Spontaneous Renal Pelvis Rupture Caused by Ureteral Lithiasis

چکیده
Rupture of the urinary collecting system associated with peripelvic extravasation of the urine is a rare condition and commonly associated with obstructing calculus, trauma or previous urinary tract surgery [3,4]. Collecting system rupture is an extremely rare outcome of the increased pressure in the pelvis during renal colic. The diagnosis can be suspected on serial ultrasonography, and confirmed by contrast enhanced CT scan [3]. CASE PRESENTATION

Renal pelvis spontaneous rupture secondary to ureteral lithiasis. Case report and bibliographic review.
OBJECTIVE To report a case seen at the Urology Department and comment on the literature. METHODS We present the case of 46 year-old male who presented left flank pain. Intravenous pyelography was performed. The study showed evidence of contrast extravasation at the level of the left renal pelvis and a 7 mm stone located on the left ureterovesical junction. A literature search was performed...
متن کاملSpontaneous ureteral rupture during concurrent chemoradiotherapy in a woman with uterine cervical cancer
Spontaneous rupture of the renal pelvis and ureter is associated with obstruction of the urinary collecting system, but is rarely caused by tumors. We describe our experience with a patient who had uterine cervical cancer with mild hydroureter in whom spontaneous ureteral rupture occurred during concurrent chemoradiotherapy. The patient was a 66-year-old woman with stage IIIB uterine cervical c...

We report two cases of spontaneous urinary rupture caused by primary ureteral or renal pelvic cancer. Case 1: A 76-year-old man presented with macrohematuria and left back pain. Magnetic resonance imaging showed left middle ureteral tumor and rupture of upper ureter. Left nephroureterectomy was performed. Histological findings revealed urothelial carcinoma, G2, pT1, lt-u0, ew0, ly0, v1. At five...
متن کاملSpontaneous Renal Pelvis Rupture: Unexpected Complication of Urolithiasis Expected to Passage with Observation Therapy
Seventy percent of ureteral stones are located at distal ureter. Effective and safe passage of distal ureter stones is mediated by observation or medical expulsive treatment. Most of stones located at distal ureter pass spontaneously under observation; however, some are complicated with urinary tract infection, hydronephrosis, and renal function disturbances. Spontaneous perforation of the uppe...
متن کاملSpontaneous Rupture of the Ureter Secondary to Urolithiasis and Extravasation of Calyceal Fornix due to Acute Urinary Bladder Distension: four cases report
Spontaneous rupture of the ureter is extremely uncommon and thought as a nontraumatic leakage of the urine from the ureter. It is usually secondary to ureteral obstruction from a calculus. The symptom is always severe and drainage or surgical intervention is often required. True rupture of upper ureter or renal pelvis may be confused with a physiologic phenomenon of the forniceal rupture with u...
